Dental Crowns

Restore Your Smile with Custom Dental Crowns

Restorative Dentistry

Restore Your Smile and Renew Oral Function

Dental crowns are among the most common and versatile restorative treatments. They can repair teeth that have sustained cracks, chips, and even severe trauma. Frequently, crowns are used to enhance teeth with significant cosmetic blemishes. Combined with other restorative techniques, they can also replace missing teeth. Edward Lorents, DDS, can fabricate and place dental crowns in a single appointment at his Oklahoma City, OK, practice. He will use advanced imaging to determine your candidacy for a crown and to plan a lifelike restoration.

Is A Dental Crown For Me?

Crafted from High-Quality Materials for a Natural Look

A crown will completely cover your tooth, so it can repair many types of dental damage. During your consultation, Dr. Lorents will evaluate your oral health and tooth structure to determine whether a crown is right for you. He may recommend a crown if you are struggling with any of the following issues:

  • A cracked tooth
  • A tooth that is proportionately small or worn down
  • A cavity that is too extensive for a filling
  • Severe discoloration
  • A misshaped tooth
  • An infected tooth, following root canal therapy
  • Large chips
  • A missing tooth (crowns can top dental implants and secure dental bridges)

Dental Crown Treatment

Ideal for Replacing One to Three Missing Teeth

Since your tooth will support the crown, Dr. Lorents will first need to reshape it before placing your restoration. He will numb the tooth, so you will experience little to no discomfort. He will carefully remove several layers of tissue, making room for your crown and creating a strong base. Next, he will use a digital scanner to create virtual impressions of your tooth. He can upload these images to a computer, where he will design your restoration more accurately than he could with handmade molds. Our onsite lab will then create your crown, and Dr. Lorents can typically place it that same day. Dental crowns can often restore even the most severe cases of damaged teeth. If you receive an implant-supported crown, however, this will require additional treatment. Dr. Lorents will need to perform implant surgery, positioning a single post in your jawbone. Then, once you have healed, he will attach your crown. In some cases, he can use Speedy Implants to provide a next-day restoration.

Benefits of Dental Crowns

Strengthen Teeth and Enhance Your Smile with Dental Crowns

Dental crowns can often restore even the most severe cases of damaged teeth. The crown will fortify the outer walls of your tooth, strengthening it and helping to prevent further damage. If you have a cavity or infection, your restoration will seal your tooth so that bacteria or infection cannot penetrate further. A crown can improve the look of your smile, especially with our advanced materials. Materials such as porcelain and zirconia will offer the most realistic results. With a natural sparkle, your restoration can help you appear several years younger.
