Oral Surgery

Oral Surgery Services for Optimal Dental Health

Restorative Dentistry

Effective, Gentle Oral Surgery

We provide all types of oral surgery at Dental Arts Center in Oklahoma City, OK. Oral surgery ranges from simple tooth extractions to the realignment of the jaw causing a wanted change in the patient’s facial structure. Our Oral Surgeons have all been very extensively trained and are highly skilled in performing surgery in even the most challenging cases. They are also trained in all aspects of anesthesia and proper post-op, making sure that our patients are as pain free and comfortable as possible throughout their procedure and after. Our oral surgeons provide the highest standard of care for every single patient. We are proud to serve people of all ages, from young children to the elderly.

Sedation and Anesthesia

Safe and Comfortable Surgery

We provide a wide range of anesthetic options depending on the type of procedure being performed and how nervous a patient may be. We are able to make our patients comfortable with sedation or even put them safely under with general anesthesia. The safety and comfort of our patients is our highest priority and every option will be discussed in detail prior to treatment.

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Preventing Future Complications

Our third set of molars, which are more commonly called our “wisdom teeth” rarely have enough room to fully emerge into the mouth without crowding other teeth and causing an extreme amount of pressure in the head and neck area. They also very commonly can cause severe pain due to infections, tumors, and cysts. If they are not removed there can be problems with proper bite alignment of the teeth, cause constant headaches, collect unwanted bacteria and food, and raise the chance of having decay and gum disease. Wisdom teeth can be removed safely and comfortably saving patients from years of pain and discomfort and acute dangerous oral infections. Early evaluation and intervention is the key to reducing the risk of complications. By using the proper diagnostic radiography, Dentists are able to identify if a patient’s third molars will be a problem or not. This is one of the many things that will be discussed in the initial visit without professional dentists and put in a treatment plan if necessary work is needed.

Tooth Extractions

Modern Techniques for Safe Procedures

Teeth that are very badly damaged due to trauma or decay may be too difficult to restore and impossible to save and in the end must be removed. Dental Arts Center uses the most modern techniques to ensure that this is done safely and as comfortably as possible. Removal of the third molars is the most common form of extraction, however patients need this done if a tooth or several teeth have been severely affected by decay, a patient has advanced periodontal disease, has an extra tooth or cyst most likely identified in an x-ray, or experienced a traumatic accident that caused a tooth to break in a way that the dentist cannot restore it properly.

Dental Implants

Natural and Functional Tooth Replacement

For people with a missing tooth or even several missing teeth, dental implants can seem like a miracle. They are a wonderful tooth replacement option and are less frustrating than dealing with bridges and dentures. Once in place they maintain normal jaw functioning and look very natural. If you are missing teeth and are tired of having loose dentures, dental implants may be a great option for you. Dental Arts Center can coordinate with your primary dentist in determining the best way to move forward to give you the best outcome functionally and cosmetically. If you don’t currently have a primary dentist, we can certainly refer you to a highly qualified one in Oklahoma City to meet all your dental needs.

Oral Lesions and Cancer Screening

Early Detection Saves Lives

Oral cancer is more common and more dangerous than many people realize. If left undetected, it can metastasize into the lymph nodes of the neck, making it difficult to fight. At Dental Arts Center, we offer oral lesion and cancer screening to catch potential problems early. If a patient notices or feels something odd inside their mouth, it is important to see a dentist immediately for a complete examination. We can remove a tiny piece of tissue from the area and send it for analysis by a pathologist to determine if the lesion is benign or cancerous. Early detection can save lives!

Corrective Jaw Surgery

Improving Bite Alignment

Corrective jaw surgery is necessary in cases where a patient’s bite is improper due to misaligned jaws, mainly due to genetics. Our highly skilled oral surgeons can coordinate with an orthodontist to improve your bite alignment, eliminate jaw pain, and improve your appearance. At the initial visit, we will evaluate your bite and determine if surgery is necessary. Corrective jaw surgery can give you a proper, well-functioning bite and help your natural teeth stay healthy longer.

Reconstructive Surgery

Restoring Form and Function

Reconstructive surgery can be the best solution in cases where teeth have been extracted due to facial injuries or tumor removal. We can perform bone and tissue grafts to restore form and function, even if there is not adequate tissue or bone remaining to place dental implants or dentures. Our skilled oral surgeons will evaluate your situation and develop a treatment plan that meets your unique needs.
