Unlike other types of professional in-office whitening that dehydrate the teeth and cause painful sensitivity, Opalescence Boost is chemically-activated and requires no lights nor lasers! Best of all, you can have a remarkably brighter and whiter smile in about an hour!
The Treatment Process
The Opalescence Boost treatment begins by our professionals evaluating your current tooth color and discussing your whitening goals. Once this is determined, they then proceed by applying a protective barrier along your gumlines. This process ensures that the whitening product will stay on your teeth and not migrate to your gums, thereby avoiding any gum sensitivity. Once fully protected, the whitening product is then carefully applied to each tooth, where it will stay for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, we use a suction to remove the whitening product. Your color change is evaluated and if necessary, this process of applying the whitening product and suctioning it can be repeated up to three times to achieve the desired result.
Take-Home Options Available
Opalescence offers a take-home option that is available for purchase through a dental office, and our practice does carry these products. Depending on your starting point, these treatments can take as little as 30 minutes a day to reach the desired color. At-home treatments involve applying the gel into a tooth-shaped tray that fits around your teeth. After a pre-determined length of time (as recommended by our dentist), you will remove the tray, rinse your entire mouth, and watch your teeth gradually whiten.
