Candidates For
Dentures
While implants and bridges can be good solutions for missing teeth, dentures can be used when numerous teeth have been lost or exhibit severe signs of decay. At the Dental Arts Center, our patients most enjoy that dentures give them the ability to finally eat and speak properly again. It’s also a big relief that dentures improve their health, as missing teeth force the remaining teeth to work extra hard. This imbalance commonly leads to bone loss and/or gum disease.
Dentures Instantly Improve Oral Health & Aesthetics
Aside from their numerous health benefits, patients who receive dentures also find that their facial appearance is improved, as missing teeth can result in facial muscle laxity, which gives the face an aged and sagging appearance. Dentures seamlessly pull these facial muscles back into place, creating a younger and more refreshed appearance.
Patients also love looking in the mirror and seeing that their dentures give them a full-mouth smile to be proud of. They tell us they love flashing their new set of clean, straight, and sparkling white teeth in photos that they avoided taking prior to having dentures! Creating these types of experiences are very rewarding to us. If you believe having dentures could be a good fit for your needs, we would love for you to become our next success story. Please simply reach out for a consultation to further discuss all options!
Schedule TodayTraditional Vs. Implant-Supported Dentures
If you’re like most people, thinking of dentures will immediately make you envision the traditional version that is removable. These dentures are custom-fitted to the patient’s gums and are placed on top of their tissue. They are quite stable, reliable, and adjustable, though they will need to be modified with age as the mouth and bone structure changes. On the other hand, implant-supported dentures are a much stronger solution. These permanent (not removable) dentures are attached to titanium posts which are surgically implanted into the jawline. Since there is no concern about implant-supported dentures becoming loose, the patient can eat anything that they want. If you’re interested in dentures but wondering which type is right for you, reach out to us to schedule a consult. We’re here to help you make these big decisions!
Appointment RequestDo Maintenance Requirements Change Based On The Type Of Denture?
Traditional dentures are removeable so will have different maintenance & cleaning requirements. However, no matter what type of dentures you get, please be mindful that a regular oral care routine is still of utmost importance for your health. Brushing your gums, tongue, and the roof of your mouth is essential for preventing bacterial infections and gum disease. During a consultation, we will discuss all considerations and upkeep requirements for both denture options with you.
“While dentures are not for everyone, they can be a great option for some patients, depending on their specific needs, goals, and lifestyle expectations.”

Is Everyone A Candidate For Implant-Supported Dentures?
Implant-supported dentures are preferred by many, as they are the strongest denture option and some patients are embarrassed to “remove their teeth” when using traditional dentures. However, to be a candidate for implant-supported dentures, a patient does need to have healthy bone structure. If this option is of interest to you, we can definitely evaluate your oral health condition and confirm whether or not you’re a good candidate!
